Using Mac OS 10.1.5. Clicking "Edit Cookie Sites" opens an empty dialog box
(only headers for Websites and Allow/Deny) appears. Verified that cookie.txt
file was full. Trashed org.mozilla.navigator.plist and files under Application
Support/Chimera but still unable to edit cookies. Also experienced this issue
under build 2002110415.

Reproducible: Always

We really need to fix this UI. People don't realise that you have to have manual
confirmation on for each cookie to get cookies to edit. That in itself seems
unnecessary.

yeah --i found that if i haven't turned on the "ask before storing a cookie"
pref (under the Privacy panel), that the listbox in the sheet for "edit cookie
sites" remains blank.

once i *respond* when asked --either allow or deny && the "remember decision"
checkbox is selected in that sheet-- *then* that site becomes displayable under
"edit cookie sites".

i don't understand why we need to be dependent on when a user is asked each time
about a cookie. is there a way to remove this dependency?

Summary: Cannot edit cookies (dialog box empty) → Cannot edit cookies (dialog box empty) unless "ask before storing a cookie" is on
because the dialog isn't about editing cookies at all, but about *sites* where
you specified allow/deny for the entire site. w/out this dialog, if you
remembered they decision to deny all cookies from, say, cnn.com, there's no way
to ever change that.
Why isn't the 'ask me checkbox' a 3rd radio button, together with enable/disable
cookies? Then the 'edit cookie sites' button can be pulled in next to it, to
make the association clearer.

Also, if 'enable all cookies' is chosen, why don't we accumulate cookie sites
anyway?
there are two features in mozilla that deal with cookie management:

a. managing the stored cookies (individual cookies that've been allowed)

b. managing sites (tracking which sites have allow or deny status). currently
chimera does only the latter.

which would be more frequently used (heh, both are advanced features anyhow)?

on the other hand, what simon suggests in comment 4 might be a different feature
altogether, where we'd have a list of all sites (but not their individual
cookies as in (a)) that have been allowed. how often used/useful would that be?
(tangent warning: if this should be considered, then an rfe needs to be filed
--not sure if it already exists.)
Perhaps you might take a look at this
http://www.stocksraiders.com/chimera/ in the Cookies menu, specially
http://www.stocksraiders.com/chimera/cookies-b004.jpg
which covers all possibilities for cookies.
see also bug 180248 --should that be dup'd in favor of this one, since they both
deal with the same issue (afaict)?
dupping this one, since the other seems to have more recent activity...
