User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:105.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/105.0
Steps to reproduce:
- Start typing something in address bar (e.g. "goo"). FF may suggest some auto-completion in the URL (e.g. "google.com/").
- Move mouse pointer to one of the suggestions (e.g. "Google Translate - https://translate.google.com")
- Press Right Arrow or Tab
Actual results:
FF navigates to the selection in step 2
Expected results:
FF should have only auto-completed with the URL of selection in 2.
(Important because after you click the address bar, it is common for the pointer to move a bit especially sometimes because of palm on laptop touchpads. Also the autocompletion in Step 1 might be different from where the mouse pointer is Step 2. In the case of the attached screenshot, it will navigate to "uic.blackboard.com" instead of "learn-c.org".)

Expected could also be:
Auto-completes with the URL that is suggested inside the text box (not drop-down) in step 1. i.e. "learn-c.org/".

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Address Bar' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hi Danyal, we tried to reproduce this issue on our end using Firefox Release, Beta as well as Nightly and we cant seem to reproduce it, hitting the right arrow on the keyboard regardless of what we are hovering over it will just move the cursor to the right and wont navigate to that page. We also tried using Tab and it will just jump to the next available suggestion instead of navigating to that website.
Can you please try and see if the issue also occurs in our Latest Nightly build ? you can find the build here: https://nightly.mozilla.org/
And also can you please try using safe mode and see if the issue still occurs ? You can find the steps on how to do this here:

Hi Rares,
Thank you for your reply.
The issue is still there in the safe mode for my FF, but it's not in latest nightly build. I don't understand what might be causing this though.

Hi Danyal,
You could try creating a new profile to use with your Firefox Release, you have the steps here:
It might be a preference set somewhere or maybe caused by an addon.
Please note that you will also have the older profile saved, but if you update Firefox in the new profile it will not allow you start Firefox with the older one.
It also might be an issue that has already been fixed in our latest builds, but please note that we were unable to reproduce it on our side in either version.

This was fixed with FF update to 106 yesterday. Do you still want me to revert to the old version and see what's happening?
Sorry I didn't realize I should have checked with a new profile before posting this bug.

Its ok We can Close it for now and reopen it later if it starts to reoccur, it might have been fixed in our latest versions. Please let us know if it starts to reoccur.
