"Extensions" button cannot be removed from toolbar.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open latest Mozilla Firefox Nighty 107.0a1 (2022-10-13) (64-bit)
  2. Install uBlock Origin extension (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/)
  3. Notice that new "Extension" button was added to toolbar
  4. Try to hide "Extension" button from toolbar with "Remove from Toolbar" option in mouse menu and notice that it is impossible because option is grayed out
  5. Try to hide "Extension" button from toolbar in "Customize..." mode and notice that it is impossible because button is immovable

Observed results:
"Extensions" button cannot be removed from toolbar.

Expected results:
"Extensions" button can be removed from toolbar.

The extensions button is new primary ui and is not customizable by design. Once the functionality is completed, reduction of buttons can be done by unpinning addon buttons from the toolbar. They will always be available under the extensions button.

So in the future it will not be possible to hide all extension's buttons or leave just only one in toolbar without having additional "Extension" button always visible?

There is always room for refinement and as we move forward we will take both suggestions and experience with how users make use of the button into consideration in that.

I could see a case where if a user has only one extension installed and pinned the button that it may not be necessary to show both, but there are a number of features tied into the button so it would take some exploration to see if the complexity added also improved the experience sufficiently.

I don't get it. I am already able to reduce the number of buttons from toolbar by simply customizing it. So I am only showing the ones that I really need them there. Why do I have to have an additional button that I cannot remove?
