User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/105.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
Not specifically reproducible, but happens frequently (at least every few weeks).
Mail account: IMAP with offline support.
Server: Dovecot
Actual results:
After selecting a mail in the mail list, Thunderbird just shows garbage in the mail window. (See attachment for example.)
The affected mail(s) are not readable any more, and you need to right-click the folder -> properties -> General -> Repair.
This fixes the problem for a while, until it re-occurs in this or another folder.
This also happened with older builds, but still occurs with 102.3.2.
Expected results:
All downloaded / synchronized IMAP mails should stay readable. Clicking the mail in the message list should show the mail, not garbage.

(Some remark: Not sure if this is really "MSF curruption" - "MSF curruption" is just the reason stated in the dialog for the existence of the "Repair" button, and the "Repair" button temporarily helps, so I assumed these garbled views are the result of MSF corruption.)

Gunter, do you still see this problem?

Yes, frequently - every few days.
I'm currently using TB 102.9.1 (64-Bit) (Linux x64).
Sometimes also wrong mails are (correctly) shown if a message is selected. This also seems to be persistent and deterministic until I "Repair" the index.
Really looks as if there's some race when mapping mail entries to actual the actual data.
It might be related to the "Quick filter" toolbar - I always have it enabled, and most often notice the corruption and wrong mail mappings if I very quickly type some filter text into the "Quick filter" after switching a folder.
(i.e. switch folder, immediately focus the quick filter bar, and paste some filter text)

Please check back in July when using Version 115.
Thanks

@wayne: Quick update, I just upgraded to 115 and will provide feedback.
As the corruption happens (happened?) frequently, but not reproducably, it might take some time to determine whether it's fixed now or not.

On 115, I often have this issue (every two or three days?). Repairing the folder fixes it.

Yes, it also still happens for me, currently with TB 115.2.0.
