User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/106.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
Open an attachment from a mail in Thunderbird on Mac OS
Actual results:
The file is saved in Macintosh HD/private/var/folders/[two letters folders]/[alfanumeric folder]/[single letter folder]/[folder]/file
This is a security issue too: this folder is accessible to everyone and to every user on the computer
Expected results:
The file should be saved in the folder selected in preferences (i.e.: Download)

It's saved in the temp folder. I assume you have somehow configured that to be your temp folder.

Absolutely no. On the contrary: it started saving in / private / var after an update (I don't remember exactly which one). I'm reporting it now because I was sure it would be fixed with an update, but time has passed and the problem has remained.
I add that I couldn't even find where to change this setting. There is no way to find this path in the editor...
