This appears to happen because the page gets into an infinite loop or other weird condition while trying to renderBadge in a library called altmetric_badges, from calls to _altmetric.embed_callback in scripts like this one

It's unclear what the real cause is from a cursory diagnosis.

Workaround with uBlock rule:
journals.physiology.org api.altmetric.com * block
Or for all websites:
* api.altmetric.com * block
