Look up a word on m-w.com, and click the little 'audio' icon to hear it
pronounced, it does not play however, and you need to save/open it with another
application to be able to hear it, which is quite annoying.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to m-w.com
2. Look up a word
3. Click the audio icon

Actual Results:
No sound played

Expected Results:
The .wav should've been played inside the browser.
Suggesting WONTFIX.
Seconding André's WONTFIX suggestion.

This might possibly be handled by an extension of some sort, but not as a
default part of the browser.

-->Changing the summary to something more concise
Summary: when you look up a word, and click the 'audio' icon, you do not hear the .wav → .wav files not played natively by Phoenix
That's definitely a WONTFIX. We shouldn't add unnecessary bloat to the browser.
I'd also suggest wontfix, if you really want to play wav files from phoenix
you might want to get a plugin for it, which would be much more helpful.
For netscape and mozilla browsers you can get plugins from
http://plugins.netscape.com/ After getting the quicktime one you should be
able to hear sounds just fine :)
This bug was essentially a request for enhancement, even if the author didn't
intend it to be.

This functionnality will never be added to Phoenix and several others have
agreed with my initial assessment so I will resolve as WONTFIX
