Steps to reproduce:
- Select an email/open a tab
- Attempt to scroll
- Notice scrolling is choppy and not "smooth"
This can be seen throughout the UI
Actual results:
Smoothing in Thunderbird on ProMotion displays (M1 Pro 16") is not smooth. Smooth scrolling is enabled in Thunderbird. Running Thunderbird 106b5 on macOS ARM.
Expected results:
Scrolling on ProMotion display should be smooth. Scrolling should be comparable to Firefox after version 103 release.

I am not able to reproduce this using beta 110 nor daily.
Currently on macOS 12.4
Does this only reproduce in dark mode?
In settings only?
Hi,
I experience this with both dark and light mode. Running 110.0b2. macOS 13.2. 2021 MBP 16".
I get this "choppiness" primarily in the Settings screen.
It's more visible if you try to scroll (with the trackpad) very slowly.
I'm not sure if this is limited to ProMotion screens or not.

slow scrolling, yes I see sometimes choppiness. And hitchback.
There are likely matches in https://mzl.la/3R4ddXM (but I wouldignore Bug 1697999 which is folder-specific to Thunderbird)
