User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:106.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/106.0
Steps to reproduce:
(please note that I am not a native english speaker (my Thunderbird use the french translation), and that this is my first bug report, so feel free to correct me if needed)
(component should be Networking:IMAP, but I couldn't find it in the list)
1)Configure an existing mail (microsoft exchange based)
(I can provide my settings in private if needed)
Actual results:
2)Thunderbird will propose the following configuration
Username : youremail@yourcompany.fr
IMAP server : outlook.office365.com
Port : 143
Security : STARTTLS
Authentication method : Normal password
The configuration is not correct and will fail as a result.
Expected results:
According to https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/exchange-team-blog/basic-authentication-deprecation-in-exchange-online-september/ba-p/3609437
And with testing from https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/tests/O365Imap/input
Also tested by myself on my exchange account (I can provide my settings in private if needed)
2)Thunderbird should propose the following configuration
Username : youremail@yourcompany.fr
IMAP server : outlook.office365.com
Port : 993
Security : SSL
Authentication method : OAuth2
Note that OWL is not needed, except for exchange account with disabled IMAP
Personal note : SMTP i till working for now with the default settings, but it may change in the near future

Might be related to bug 1679711
But regardless "normal password" is not supported anymore on exchange server, so it should not be proposed as a default setting
Please disregard my comment on SMTP, it looks far more complicated than I thought
