Details

Using the latest nightly build under Windows 98, it appears as if the main menu
bar (File, etc.) is (quite obviously) the wrong color. It's a solid white with
black text rather than the Windows 98 standard gray w/ black text. (It appears
as if you're not reading in the widget's preferences, but I'm not sure how
Windows handled that.)

Actually what you're looking at is an XPMenu bar meaning on Linux and Win32 it
will be a skinnable component like any other control. We are currently
experimenting with to get right color setup for the new look and feel. One of
the options as you mention correctly is using system colors, which is a
supported CSS2 attribute. Others skins may want to do something cooler,
including using background images. I am marking this as invalid as to indicate
that this is a matter of what the skin designer wants to do, not something
hardcoded into Mozilla.
