Steps to reproduce:

When I open Firefox Windows Explorer stops responding.
I am then unable to shut down Firefox without getting the Report an Error popup, no matter how I attempt to shut it down.
Sync does not work when this error is going on.
The clock on the Task Bar quits working and holds the time that Firefox opened.
I have Refreshed Firefox with no luck.
I have just figured out that if I Restart Windows Explorer then Firefox works.
But if I shut down Firefox, then reopen it, the error happens again.
Edge works fine, as well as Chrome works fine.
This error only showed up last week with the latest Firefox update.
This is a Dell XPS desktop computer with Intel i7 processor.

I could not reproduce the issue on Win7 x64 using Firefox build 106.0(20221010110315). Win7 was the one indicated as used Operating System if you are seeing the issue on a different OS, please mention it. Also please attach the crash report (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/mozillacrashreporter).
Can you please try and see if you reproduce the issue using a new and empty profile? See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems#w_6-create-a-new-firefox-profile? Thank you.

I let the latest Update install itself and the problem is still there.
It pretty much comes down to Firefox causes Windows Explorer to hang up.
If I leave Firefox open, I can click on the task bar and get a failure message about Windows Explorer. If I select restart program then it seems to be OK after that.
I have a laptop with Windows 7 installed that does not experience this issue. My Windows 10 computers are both fine as well.
This issue is on my preferred home computer, of course.
I have not tried opening it in an empty profile yet.

For future reference, all we need is the crash ID, available in about:crashes, so long as the crash has been sent in to Mozilla. (For my colleagues' reference, the crash ID here is 7756eee8-17b0-4da5-810c-2f76c0221027.)

That said, it'd be difficult for Firefox to cause Windows Explorer (including the taskbar) to lock up. This seems more likely to be the fault of a badly-misbehaving Windows Explorer extension (or possibly some other third-party software).

Can you try disabling any extensions you have installed to see if that fixes the issue? Some ways to do this include ShellExView (third-party software; relatively user-friendly) or Autoruns (Microsoft; all the bells and whistles).

Creating and selecting a new /empty profile makes no difference. It still locks up Windows Explorer.
Later today I'll uninstall and reinstall Firefox and see what happens.

I have tried uninstalling Firefox, and deleting the folder.
When I reinstall it the problem is also still present.
I have performed a Refresh with no difference.
I have also used a new and empty profile with no difference.
To restate the problem as I have found it:
Opening Firefox and it works fine, except for Sync.
However, if I attempt to close the program it hangs up and I get the Report an Error box.
No matter what I select from this box, restart or close, it still hangs up.
Now, IF I start Firefox and then minimize it. I can click the pointer anywhere on the desktop twice and I get the failure message about Windows Explorer not functioning. If I select Restart program, Windows Explorer restarts and Firefox works perfectly. Sync works, AND I can close out of it with no problem.
This issue did not start until your Update from a few weeks ago Version 106.0.1 I believe it was.
Firefox used to be my main browser on my home computer. But with it causing these issues I've been having to use Chrome and Edge, both of which don't hang up. Neither of which I like as much as Firefox though.
