Under Windows 98 using the latest nightly build, if you enter text in a textbox with multiple lines. (Such as the Bugzilla "Description" line.) and submit the form. Following that, press the back button to review the page. The previous text will still be in the textbox however at the end of each line there would be a box symbol (indicating an unprintable character, my guess would be line feed or carriage return). Maybe unrelated, after deleting text out of that box and reentering new text, I am occasionally getting crashes. As this particular build appears to be unstable to me, it may not be related.

Related to bug 16813?? Could this be platform-dependent because of CR/LF issues? Moving to HTML Form controls component and reassigning.

Perhaps it is a problem with the implementation of the textbox'es nsIStatefulFrame used to implement history.

TESTCASE: 1. copy and paste the following into the Location field: http://bugzilla.mozilla.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17974 blah blah blah ensure that you get both lines 2. your caret should be at the end of the second line 3. on win32, select the Home button 4. select the Backspace button result -- you should see the pesky little box at the end of the first line assigning to Kin for review

I'm not seeing this problem. Can anyone else still reproduce this?
1) I don't see this on NT. Was it Win98-specific? 2) Beth: I don't understand your example. The location bar is a single line control. It shouldn't allow 2 lines to be pasted into it (that's a bug I have a fix for, but not yet checked in.) The bug is written about <textarea>'s, not <input>'s. If any part of this bug refers to <input>'s, that's a dup of a bug I already have a fix for.

I can't get this to reproduce either, since I was one of the folks who found this earlier, I am marking this as worksforme.
