Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021112 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021112 Starting from an empty Mozilla Profile, I start Mozilla and open up Mail/News. When I do that, I am asked for the email account information. If I enter the server as tmail.arlington.k12.va.us, everything works correctly. If , however, I enter the server name as teacher.mail.arlington.k12.va.us, The server does not allow me to log in. I'm guessing this is because the server name is getting truncated (admittedly, teacher.mail.arlington.k12.va.us is very long) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create new profile 2. start Mozilla 3. Access Mail and News 4. Enter account information, with server name as teacher.mail.arlington.k12.va.us Actual Results: I cannot log into teacher.mail.arlington.k12.va.us Expected Results: Allow me to log into teacher.mail.arlington.k12.va.us

One of the many problems caused by the 32-character limit in Fizilla (a Carbon build), which is used in Mac OS X and Mac OS 9. Chimera (a Mach-O build) should be fine, but doesn't have a built-in mailer. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 142043 ***
