I have attempted to reproduce this issue but wasn't able.
I've created messages containing the character "🡕" and previewed them, but it was correctly displayed every time.
On the other hand, it seems that Chrome didn't doesn't displayed them correctly (it shows instead of 🡕), while Firefox does display ity correctly when hitting Preview Post on Nightly v108.0a1 and Release 106.0.4 on Windows 10.
- What operating system are you using?
- Which exact version of the browser reproduced this issue for you?
- Are there any steps missing from your report?
- Does it still reproduce if opening the browser in safe mode? (info here)
Thank you for your contribution!
- Ubuntu 20.04, openSUSE Leap 15.4, Tumbleweed 64bit
- 106.0.5 64bit (downloaded & updated from mozilla.org)
- no
- yes
Happens with downloaded FF 106.0.5 (32-bit) on Debian 11 (bullseye) 32bit too.
Another bug which is probably related:
Click on "Reply With Quote" button of the post https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/576664-Clicking-on-quot-Preview-Post-quot-deletes-what-I-ve-written?p=3171700#post3171700
Result: Text edit area is empty although it should contain quoted text.

I properly understand the behavior of the forum in question and I can now confirm the issue in Release v106.0.5 and Nightly v108.0a1 and even ESR v102.4.0esr. This issue is definitely caused by special characters like the one exemplified by the reporter ( "🡕" ).
If the user writes a message that contains that character and clicks the "Preview Post" button, he will notice that the text input box where the message was initially written gets erased completely. But if the user writes a message that only contains basic characters and then he clicks the "Preview Post" button, he will notice that the previously written text message is displayed on both the "preview" box and the "text input" box.
Furthermore, this issue does not occur on the Chrome browser, but other issues can be observed there.
Thank you for your contribution!

We appreciate your report. I was not able to reproduce the issue. It seems that the preview option is built into the posting process, as I can preview my topic in the lower right part of the page:https://prnt.sc/scLhsQ__yqst. Probably the page received a UI update, as the "Reply to quote" option is also N/A,
Tested with:
Browser / Version: Firefox Nightly 111.0a1 (2023-01-31) (64-bit)
Operating System: Windows 10 PRO x64
If the reporter or anyone else can reproduce the issue, I will gladly re-open it.
