Details

(Keywords: hang)

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:106.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/106.0

Steps to reproduce:

When deleting files from the inbox the deletion does not create a new thread properly. Instead the UI takes the lag and just hangs for the user.

Actual results:

Crash of the application

Expected results:

Application does not crash

If you crash, please provide the crash-id (found in Help | Troubleshooting information)

Okay I rephrased it, was not really a crash but Thunderbird just became unresponsive, I'll have a look into it myself.

Does problem go away?

The problem comes from windows defender running in the background and scanning files that are deleted. A possible fix would be to create a queue for files that are under scan by defender and resume normal program usage without hanging the app.
