User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:107.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/107.0
Steps to reproduce:
I'd like to change the folder that is used to populate the bookmarks toolbar.
I know that currently the bookmarks showed in the toolbar are those in the "Bookmarks Toolbar" folder. I want to dynamically change that folder.
I'm using the Simple Tab Groups extension (STG) and I think it could be useful to change the toolbar folder based on which tab group I'm currently using: as an example when I'm in the movies tab group I want to see in the toolbar only bookmarks related to movies (that I'have saved in a movies folder).
The change should be made using the mouse: like I right click on a bookmark and select "use this folder as a bookmark toolbar source".
This should be just a local browser settings, and should not be synced to mozilla servers.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Sync' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

the bot is wrong, the issue has nothing to do with sync.

Opening this issue as an Enhancement.
Having the option to change those folders sounds like an awesome idea, Selecting which Bookmark folder to show on your toolbar would be really good for any users.
Starting a new session with different bookmarks displayed on your toolbar based on a Work environment or maybe just browsing fun stuff and switching between them dynamically is a lot better than to say have multiple profiles with different bookmarks saved or simply having all your bookmarks in that folder.
Love this idea, Thanks Tortino for taking the time and log this issue.

This is not possible today due to architecture limits, though in my ideal vision of bookmarks, the toolbar would just be a user-picked folder in a single root containing all the bookmarks... Unfortunately that's not something we have resources to work on right now.
