Steps to reproduce:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fnOnEZpLIzYBrSM5PVkSfU8P1jxI2w1s/view?usp=sharing
- Open JavaScript debugger on any file, in which both vertical and horizontal scrollbar is visible
- Place mouse inside code area and keep it idle for few seconds, until scrollbars are completely gone.
Actual results:
Scrollbars are not brought back after moving mouse around, like in typical websites. The only way to show them again, is to move content during text selection.
Expected results:
Scrollbar should be shown again, after any mouse movement.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'DevTools::Debugger' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Thanks for reporting!
This works for me on Mac OS, so it might be Windows specific.
Honza,
Pls do you see this issue on your windows?

I can't repro, but perhaps because I don't have overlapping (like OSX) scrollbars?
Can I somehow set it for my Win 10 OS?

I have smaller scrollbars by default on Firefox stable & Firefox nightly.
There is a firefox config widget.non-native-theme.scrollbar.style which allows to change style of the scrollbars, so they look like yours: https://i.imgur.com/f7EI12B.png
It didn't solve the problem for me. I believe problem is with Windows 11 setting Accessibility | Always show scrollbars. When I have set it to true, scrollbars no longer disappear.

Hi,
Can you check if you see the same issue on the codemirror test page at https://codemirror.net/5/demo/html5complete.html ?
Thanks

Yes, codemirror scrollbars are also hidden. Actually in there it seems worse, because those scrollbars are now displayed after initial page load: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fNIhGeSVsbhVFvt6A7avgmYiv4zBIKZc/view?usp=share_link

I can reproduce the problem using STRs from the comment #0
Tested on Win 11 with Firefox 108 release and Firefox 110 nightly
- Open JavaScript debugger on any file, in which both vertical and horizontal scrollbar is visible
- Place mouse inside code area and keep it idle for few seconds, until scrollbars are completely gone.
- Scrollbars are not brought back after moving mouse around, like in typical websites. The only way to show them again, is to move content during text selection.

I also tested this page https://codemirror.net/5/demo/html5complete.html
-
Firefox
I am seeting the same problem as described in comment #10 -
Chrome
In this case CodeMirror is not using overlapping (like OSX) scrollbars, so the problem is not visible. Screenshot attached
