User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:102.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/102.0
Steps to reproduce:
Movemail has been removed (from v92 I think) and it is Thunderbird's choice not to bring back this important feature despite requests from many users.
So I uninstalled my Thunderbird 102.5.0-1~deb11u1 and replace it with Betterbird 102.5.0-bb24 with the patch (https www.betterbird.eu/downloads/LinuxArchive/betterbird-102.5.0-bb24-with-movemail.en-US.linux-x86_64.tar.bz2 The next BB release will include this patch).
BB is a TDB clone, similar in all its aspects, easy to install and import datas from TDB and works like a charm.
Actual results:
Unable to get in a simple way any of my server local email into TDB.
Expected results:
Able to read mails from local directories and place them into the TDB local inbox.
This feature should have been replaced.

Hey Philippe, I understand you're unhappy with the removal of movemail
support in Thunderbird, and you'd like to see it re-added.
Good news: There's a plan to restore this feature in bug 1802145 which is now dedicated to the technical implementation.
