Note

  • When the user attempts to zoom in on a PDF document and then uses the function to draw, he will notice that the cursor movement is not properly captured and usually results in an incorrect drawing.

Found in

  • Beta v108.0b7

Affected versions

  • beta v108.0b7

Tested platforms

  • Affected platforms: Windows 10 x32, Windows 10 x64, Mac OS, Ubuntu 22
  • Unaffected platforms: -

Steps to reproduce

  1. Load a PDF document in the browser
  2. Zoom in about 500%
  3. Click "Draw" button
  4. Draw a few signatures

Expected result

  • The signatures are properly drawn

Actual result

  • The signatures are improperly drawn

Regression range

  • The draw function is a relatively new implementation; The issue is not a regression.

Additional notes

  • This issue does not occur when in 100% zoom.
  • This issue occurs a little less after waiting some time, but still not as one would expect.
  • This could be a performance issue.
Severity: -- → S3

I noticed something similar on macOS 11. If I already have some custom text input or drawings on the pdf and I increase the zoom-in level the text input and drawings disappear and I'm unable to add new text or drawings until they get rendered back on the pdf (but this seems to take a very long time).

Here is a screencast for the macOS behavior (Mozilla account needed).
