User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/107.0.0.0 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create an event by putting a letter with accent in the title, location or description
  2. Save the event

Actual results:

Letters with accents will be replaced by .

Expected results:

Do not have these character problems.

The problem appeared with version 109. I also tested the local calendars, they don't seem to be affected. To see to test with the other types of remote calendars.

I see that. Tried to create an event named "é - accent acute". The accented e is garbled on save (to fastmail caldav in my case).
Strongly suspecting fallout from bug 1762335.
