I'm editing a text field since 10 minutes on a blog

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Toolkit::Application Update' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

It sounds like you may be reporting two issues here:
- Firefox updating itself without informing you.
- You lose your unsubmitted text entry after the update happens.
To the former - can you be a bit more specific on what's happening? Does Firefox notifying you that it needs to be restarted before you can continue to use the browser? Does it restart without even prompting you?
To the latter - that ought to be filed separately. I don't think form caching interacts with updates in any real way - but we take data loss such as that very seriously.
- " Does Firefox notifying you that it needs to be restarted before you can continue to use the browser? "
Yes.
- " Does it restart without even prompting you? "
The only possible reaction for the user is to confirm Firefox's restart by clicking on a 'OK' button.
It tells you that everything will be restored after restart.
After restart, all tabs indeed are present again, that's evident.
But... the text field just being edited in one of the tabs now is empty.

OK, it sounds to me like the forced restart is https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1705217.
However, I think your main complaint is that your data is lost. This is possibly a dupe of https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1743656, but let's move this over to that component for a better decision to be made.

Hello! I have tried to reproduce the issue with firefox 110.0a1(2023-01-12) on Ubuntu 22 but unfortunately I wasn't able to reproduce the issue on my end. Could you answer the following questions in order to futher investigate this issue.
- Does this issue happen with a new profile? Here is a link on how to create one: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles
- Does this issue happen in the latest nightly? Here is a link from where you can download it: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/
- Do you have any addons installed if so can you list them?

Redirect a needinfo that is pending on an inactive user to the triage owner.
:dao, since the bug doesn't have a severity set, could you please set the severity or close the bug?

Do you have a URL to share where we can test this? Presumably this doesn't happen for any and every text fields, so we somehow need to narrow down what makes your blog different.
" Do you have a URL to share where we can test this? Presumably this doesn't happen for any and every text fields, so we somehow need to narrow down what makes your blog different. "
It doesn't depend on the blog: I experienced the same behavior when commenting on different blogs.
Also, I'm wondering about a statement like
" Hello! I have tried to reproduce the issue with firefox 110.0a1(2023-01-12) on Ubuntu 22 but unfortunately I wasn't able to reproduce the issue on my end. "
because I'm working on OpenSUSE Leap 15 (what I thought the Bugzilla context would know automatically).
Comparing Ubunto to OpenSUSE is probably like comparing two different Windows systems.
What I hope is that my problem never will appear again.
Today, after a Firefox update starting while I was editing a comment to be posted on a blog, I saw for the first time that the edit field was kept preserved during the update process, and correctly appeared when the new revision (115.0.2esr) started.
Bug FIXED!
Thanks a lot.
