User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:108.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/108.0
Steps to reproduce:
In any video streaming site (YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, Reddit, etc.), I will put a video into full-screen mode by pressing the full-screen button within the video window.
Actual results:
When the video is put into full-screen mode by pressing the button within the video window, it will not reach the left and right edges of the display. Additionally, the cursor will not be able to touch the right and left edges of the display. It's as if the computer thinks the display is a lower horizontal resolution when I press full-screen.
Expected results:
When I press the full-screen button, the video and my cursor should reach the right and left edges of the display, but they do not.
The issue is resolved by pressing the green full-screen button on the Firefox app, putting the app itself in full-screen. Doing this before pressing full-screen in a video window allows the video to fill to the right and left edges of the display.
Of note:
-This issue is exclusive to Firefox; Chrome, Safari, and video replay apps don't do this
-This doesn't happen to the other Macbooks in my house when I use Firefox on them. The other Macs in my house have traditional display designs.
-This only happens when I'm using the built-in display on my M2 Air. When I plug it into an external display, full-screen works properly if that window is on the external display.
-I have found other people with the same issue on Reddit. These people also have new, notched-display Macbooks (2021 Macbook Pro 14; 2021 Macbook Pro 16; 2022 MacBook Air M2)

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Cocoa' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Does this reproduce with full-screen-api.macos-native-full-screen set to true in about:config?
(In reply to Stephen A Pohl [:spohl] from comment #2)
Does this reproduce with
full-screen-api.macos-native-full-screenset totruein about:config?
That fixes the issue. Thanks so much! Is there a way to default that setting to true on notched-screen MacBooks in future updates?
