User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.22; Mac_PowerPC)
Build Identifier: Build ID: 2002111604

The web site is a military outlook web mail access. With navigator I can sign on OK. My
email will be displayed. If I click on a message header 7 out of 10 times the message text
window will not open. If the message window does open and I click on the reply button
100% of the time the message window disappears and nothing happens. When I put my
cursor on the reply button in the lower left of the page it displays "javascript DoCommand
Reply" I can tell you I can click on the logout button and I get logged out, just can't seem
to get any messsage menu items to work Everyrhing work fine in IE 5.2.2. I don't have
Mozilla install on my machine, only IE and Chimera. Chimera is my browser of choice, I
do on-line banking with no problems, I hope Chimera can eventually allow me to use this
web mail site.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open a email message.
2.Click on reply button

Actual Results:

Expected Results:
A new message window with the senders address in the TO block with the senders
message displayed in the body of the reply message should be displayed.

make sure that pop-up blocking is turned off in your Chimera preferences and see
if you can still reproduce the problem. Please post a follow-up comment letting
us know if that eliminates the problem or not. It would also be helpful if you
could post the actual JavaScript code that is failing to execute (as I cannot
get access to it without an account).

Disabling pop up blocking solved the problem I reported.

I know you couldn't acess this site wthout an account, I hoped I gave you enough
information to get started and you solved it first try. Thanks!

Is this a bug that needs to be fixed or will it be standard practice to disable pop up

I know nothing about javascript commands, but what I saw on the bottom of screen as I
placed my cursor on the reply button in the wen mail program was JAVASCRIPT:
DoCommand ('Reply").

Thank You.

It sounds like it's closing the message window and then opening the reply window
onUnload (the JavaScript event that gets called when a page is closed). In this
case, the pop-up blocker is actually doing it's job as this is how lots of sites
spam you with pop-ups when you try to leave a site. I'm going to go ahead and
mark this bug INVALID. If you feel inclined, you may want to file a new bug to
deal with pop-up blocking whitelisting (explicitly exempting certain sites from
pop-up blocking).
