Steps to reproduce

  1. In about:config, set the pdfjs.disabled pref to false.
  2. Open a PDF file in Fenix.
  3. Rotate the device in Landscape mode.
  4. Zoom in and out on the PDF document.

Expected behavior

The PDF file is successfully and easily zoomed in and out.

Actual behavior

The user is unable to properly Zoom-in or zoom-out on PDFs in Landscape mode with this specific device.
Please note that zooming out is not as hindered as zooming in, which could require even more that 5 zooming gesture attempts.

Device information

  • Firefox version: Nightly 110 from 01/09
  • Android device model: Google Pixel 6
  • Android OS version: Android 13

Any additional information?

Not reproducible with other devices.
Please refer to the attached file.

I can reproduce this issue in nightly on a real pixel 7 device.
But I've exactly the same issue with other websites like wikipedia.org and I can reproduce with release.
So it isn't a specific pdf.js issue.
Anyway, I think this bug is a bit painful when the user reads a pdf where it's usual to zoom/unzoom.
:cpeterson, what do you think of making it P1 or P2 ?

So you can reproduce this zooming on non-PDF web pages? Is that the same bug as

In which Fenix version are we shipping pdf.js?

We're shipping pdf.js in nightly only for the moment and I hope we'll be ready for 111.
Yes I can reproduce with no difficulties on wikipedia.org.
And you likely didn't finish your question Is that the same bug as

Oops. I meant to write Is that the same bug as the reported PDF issue?. You confirmed it is, so I'll remove "PDF" from the bug summary.

I'm not able to reproduce this bug with PDF.js or Wikipedia. I tested Fenix 109 and Nightly 111 on my Samsung Galaxy A51 running Android 12. So I must be missing some step in the STR or maybe this bug only affects Android 13?

I tested this PDF: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040.pdf

Summary: Unable to correctly Zoom-in and out on PDFs in Landscape mode with Google Pixel 6 (Android 13) → Unable to correctly Zoom-in and out in Landscape mode with Google Pixel 6 (Android 13)

My pixel 7 has android 13 either and I can reproduce on wikipedia in 109 & 111 and with a pdf in 111.
So very likely it's because of android 13.

Removing from blocking bug 1803753 since this is not specific to PDFs.
