User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021016 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021016 i run slackware 8.1 before i upgraded my libs to glibc 3.X the where no problems.. the java plug-in worked with out a problem once i upgraded my libs it gave a problem with not having GLIBC 2.X and i noticed that this was with regular java jre 1.3.X so upgraded to jre 1.4.X and java works fine but now the browser still crashes the it's trying to load a java applet. here is the error message i got INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: Exec of "java_vm" failed: 2 < System error?:: No such file or directory Gdk-ERROR **: Fatal IO error 9 (Bad file descriptor) on X server :0.0. INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: Could not read ack from browser System error?:: No such file or directory any sugestiongs on how to fix this problem.. i dont' feel like downgrading to glib 2.X Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.try to load any java applet i used www.univisio.com -> chat -> 2. page lunches and looks like it's going to work then it dies 3. Have you correctly smylinked the plugin ? (and NOT copied)

yes it seems you are right it had to do with the linking.. i changed it to link and it works fine now.. sorry for any problems..
