Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:108.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/108.0

Steps to reproduce:

Currently airbnb.com.au is the top result when I start to type airbnb in the address bar. I'm based in the US but was using the .com.au site for a bit.

  1. I've cleared my entire history of any reference to airbnb.com.au for all time.
  2. I've deleted all airbnb.com.au bookmarks
  3. I've toggled of Firefox Suggest Address Bar in settings
  4. I've tried restarting the browser multiple times.

Actual results:

airbnb.com.au is still the top suggestion

Expected results:

No suggestion of airbnb.com.au should've been made.

Do you use any external applications to clean the Firefox profile? Those are often cause of these kind of issues.

Something you may try is going to about:support and running the Integrity Check in the Places Database section, it may take a few seconds.
Also ensure there's no bookmarks nor history by opening the history sidebar and the bookmarks sidebar and searching for "airbnb" in the search field. Does anything appear there?

I don't use any external applications but I just did an integrity check and the issue seems to have resolved itself. Thanks.
