I have a signature file that gets added to all mail. It looks fine on the
composing screen but gets unformatted and spread all over the bottom of my
outgoing mail.
If I turn off html formatting, the problem goes away, but I can no longer make
type changes.. like bold, color etc.
This does not happen in NetScape 4.7 or 7.. which I have on other computers
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.click on compose
2.click on send
3.read my incoming copy of the mail
Actual Results:
Name title address phone fax email address
Expected Results:
name
title
address
phone
fax
email address
(related to bug 135163?)
Reporter: Can you please attach such a mail here (.eml format) or otherwise
attach the full sourcecode of the mail
What line-length have you set text messages to wrap at?
(Look in Edit->Preferences->Mail & Newsgroups->Composition)
Asking because the longest line in your signature is 53 char's long (including a
lot of whitespaces both before and after the actual text.)
You can reply by hitting this link then write in form on web:
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=181116
(The Bugzilla mailer deamon doesn't read mails)
hmm i tested your signature and i wind up seeing the opposite of what you do:
-When i send as html mail, the signature is fine.
-If i send mail that has no formatted text, the signature will flow without
linebreaks, and in other words look wider the wider i make the window.
Tested with a day old trunk CVS build, Linux.
My line length is set at 72
Yesterday I found a setup screen specific to mail formatting other than the
usual edit/preferences.. now I can't get back to it. It gave me a different
screen to select between html and text
removed the spaces before each line in my sig block..
sent it to myself in text formatting and html..
same results.. text works.. html spreads it allout across the page

H. LeVant: Assuming you are still encountering the same problem...
I suspect the problem with the sig is not the leading space but the trailing
spaces.
Can you attach the actual sig file that you use? And an email message that
shows the actual problem? The one attached doesn't really show anything.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".
This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.
If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
