Details

The initial change from neeti to a placeholder was done as an experiment. At the time, mozilla did not want to put a "mozilla.org" email address in place because the test was somewhat controversial. I happened to have a mailserver, and I provided this account to get the test going. Now that mozilla is using placeholders in other components, I think it is time to consider having a mozilla.org email account be the default owner. Several people have asked about why packetgram is the default owner, when there ar no contributors fixing bugs from that site. Also, the email address is pretty annoyingly long, and something more compact would be better for everyone involved. No hurry here, this also depends on the outcome of bug 181135.

actually, we're not using @mozilla.org addresses. we're using markers like "foo@layout.bugs". I'm OK with going to a similar system for Networking using "general@network.bugs" or whatever.
whatever works for you guys.
I think bug 181135 will be fixed RSN, so you might want to go ahead and mark this resolved.
benc: before we rename the account, please set it up not to receive any email (this was a precursor to renaming the layout accounts).
