de-AT has the following line: alert("Installation finished. You should be able to select to use this locale via Edit > Preferences (Category: Appearance > Languages/Content)."); This line and similar lines probably appear in many localizations. In normal use this isn't a problem since the speaker speaks English, grabs the German package and installs it. seeing an English message doesn't bother the English speaker. But ... what if the original language was Japanese, French, Hebrew or Russian? I was running de-AT and installed a newer de-AT. The last thing I expected to see was en-US text popping up. The text doesn't actually help me. Even though I can read it, I can't use the words it lists to find my way through mozilla because my menus are in de-AT and my preference dialog is in de-AT.

confirmed. We could probably have a selection of generic texts for language packs, themes, and Add-Ons in XPInstall, that are a bit more specific about what has been done than just the "Success" that we have now in the install dialog. We have to figure out though, how we know what to display... Probably there should also be a generic dialog that lets the user select if he wants a global or profile install of the package (if he has write permission to the global chrome directory), this way, the most used additional dialogs of XPI packs could be replaced by generic solutions.
