The completely lock out anyone using any other browser than IE from their
"Online Progress". Possibly they don't even know anything else exists.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Visit www.55live.com
2. Follow link "Online Progress"


Actual Results:  
A page appears saying "The web browser you are using is not supported by this
system. The system requirements are as follows: Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5
or greater [...] Click the button below to [..] download the latest version of
Internet Explorer". (Thankfully, no such button appears...;-)

Expected Results:  
A form should have been shown. After entering your reference number, the
progress of the house buying processes you instructed should have been shown.
This actually used to work with Mozilla.

I have informed them today that they are in breach of contract by locking me out
since there is no technical excuse to suddenly demand I use a particular
manufacturer's product in order to get the agreed service. No answer as yet.

Could someone with more technical insight follow this up please?

Verified in 2002111108 PC/Win98, marking New.

This JS is looking for IE and rerouting any non-IE browser:
http://62.189.135.29/onlineprogress/mocha/browserhawk.js

Why they feel the need to exclude non-IE is not clear.  The login page that
comes up next in IE does not appear to be doing anything IE-specific.

The button to download IE does not appear because the IMG SRC path is broken. 
It points to http://www.55live.com/images/img_msie.jpg currently.

INCOMPLETE due to lack of activity since the end of 2009.

If someone is willing to investigate the issues raised in this bug to determine whether they still exist, *and* work with the site in question to fix any existing issues, please feel free to re-open and assign to yourself.
