User Story

• As a user, I want to easily navigate and switch tabs on my Android tablet, leveraging the larger screens.

Dependencies

TabStrip component for tablets #1302 (for the tab bar option)

Acceptance Criteria

• I have a visual view of my tabs at all times, similar to desktop #2344
• The address bar in tablet mode, includes back, forward, and reload buttons #4134
• I have the option of ALWAYS opening a site in desktop mode #4140

Product ask:

ENG: Please provide a rough sizing of each proposed improvement so it can be appropriately prioritized compared to other features.
UX: Please review the proposed improvements and provide a recommendation before moving on to design.

By sheer coincidence I checked on this bug today after months - maybe year+ - that I moved away from firefox exactly because I can't have a proper tablet experience with firefox after the change to fenix, and what do I see ? the change from defect to enhancement probably because you don't want to work on this issue

Firefox for Android HAD these features before moving to Fenix, the Firefox team broke the features and instead of fixing it, it pushed everything as enhancement. The problem here is the attitude at the end of the day maybe we should open a bug for that....

This is very important with the increase in use of tablets as productivity laptop replacements. I'll be switching back to Chrome until tablet compatibility is improved, particularly in regards to fullscreen "productivity mode" in the most recent Android 13L update.
