User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021016 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021016 I have several message filters to move mailing list mails to subfolders so that it keeps my inbox cleaner. I recently started having a problem with 1.1 and now 1.2b where, with some of the moved messages, the mail list will show the correct subject and sender information, but when I select that mail to read, the preview and the mail view windows (If I double click) will show a totally different mail than the one I am trying to look at. This wrong mail is usually a mail in a totally different folder, but one that was also moved by the message filters. Turning off the message filters and manually moving the messages seems to keep the integrity of the mail pointer. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Try turning on message filters to move incoming mail from struts-user@jakarta.apache.org and tomcat-user@jakarta.apache.org (2 high volume mailing lists) to respective folders such as project-lists/struts-list and project-lists/tomcat-list, etc. 2. 3. Expected Results: Mail list entry should point to the correct corresponding mail data
Deleting the .msf files in your mail folders will cause the indeces to be rebuilt and should fix this problem. Reporter: Do you still see this problem with a recent build? Might be a dupe of bug 154628, although there it's suggested an email should match multiple filters for this to happen.
Eric Weidner: are you still having a problem with this bug? Have you checked whether bug 154628 applied to your situation? Have you tried a more recent build of Mozilla (1.3 or 1.4b/1.4rc)?
I have not noticed the problem return in the latest releases (I'm currently using 1.4rc1) - eric
