When you hide the "Toolbar", the Window height is reduced by the same amount.
Why not making it act like the "Bookmarks Toolbar" and simply hiding it without
reducing the window height.

Don't we have another bug on this?

Couldn't find a dupe. We should wontfix this, IMHO, as reducing window's height
is the OS X behaviour and thus probably expected by users.
I can see the problem though, and as the Bookmarks Toolbar behaves differently,
I'll confirm it for now.

Why accepting to go against AAHIG (Window is resized when Sidebar is shown) and
sometimes refusing to go against it ?
What are the criteria ?
If you check AAHIG, nothing says that hidding the toolbar should reduce the
window height.
See AAHIG chapters Windows, Drawers and Toolbars.

It is odd that finder windows do the same thing. Isn't one of the main reasons
for hiding toolbars is so that you can see more in the window?

Could be just to simplify the window, OTOH.

FYI, just in case one think to use a shortcut, some are used/defined by OS X.
All clicks are made on the Toolbar icon, white icon on top right of the window.
Be sure to open TWO windows and to see both toolbars, even partially.
Cmd Option Click = Show Customize Toolbar sheet
Cmd Click = Cycle through small/big icons with/out text and text types
Option Click = Hide/Show the Toolbar of ALL Windows
Ctrl-Cmd-Option-Click = Show Toolbar then Customize Toolbar sheet and when the
CT sheet is closed it will hide the Toolbar if it was hidden at click time.
I don't think it's a good ideas to do this. There is no app on OSX that has this
odd behaviour, I don't think we should do this. Feels like bloat. WONTFIX?
But I do understand the reasoning. I think it would be better to file a bug with
Apple for this since it could be something interesting for all apps.
