[Prerequisites]:

• You are using Android 13.

[Steps to reproduce]:

1. Open Firefox.
2. Confirm that the pre-permission prompt is displayed. (If not, clear data and retry step 1 to enroll in the treatment branch of the appropriate Android Pre-Permission Prompt Experiment for the build)
3. Minimize Firefox.
4. Go to device settings and change the date to 3 or 4 days in the future.
5. Refocus Firefox.
6. Wait 1 min and observe the behavior.

[Expected result]:

• The system prompt is not displayed at the same time as the pre-permission prompt.

[Actual result]:

• The system prompt is displayed at the same time as the pre-permission prompt if a notification (i.e. default browser notification) was triggered while the pre-permission prompt was displayed.

[Notes]:

• The issue is not reproducible on Firefox Nightly 111.0a1 (Build #2015932395), 74845e87a+ AC: 111.0.20230208190408, c6b5609c63 GV: 111.0a1-20230208095231 AS: 96.4.0, a build without the experiment.
• The notification that triggered the system prompt is not displayed if the user allows notifications from the system prompt and then taps “Continue”. Further notifications are displayed.

This should be now be automatically fixed as the app targets sdk 33 now that Bug 1811795 has landed. Could you please re-confirm that this is happening/or not in latest nightly.

The issue is still reproducible. Using a local nightly variant of the latest Nightly set to Stage, with a notification experiment set in initial_experiments, the system prompt is displayed over the first slide of the onboarding which now contains on the third slide the pre-permission prompt.
Tested using Fenix Nightly 113.0a1 (Build #2015943227), db4bc04177+ GV: 113.0a1-20230405212330 AS: 97.4.1 on Android 13 (Samsung Galaxy A52s).
