Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021016 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021016 Very slow startup in 1.1b and 1.2b (a minute to open the browser window, another minute to resolve the home page; then works fine). I use a PIII-733, 256Mb RAM, Win2k PC and a T1 ethernet connection. A computer at work with similar characteristics (PIII-733, 128Mb RAM, Win2k, T1 connection) and same motherboard does not have the problem. During the first minute only the logo is displayed, then the browser window remains blank for another minute while attempting to resolve the homepage host (regardless of its parameters). Once the homepage is loaded, everythings runs smoothly from that point onwards. No crashes occur at startup, it just takes quite a while. Quick launch does not alleviate the problem. There is a plenty of space on the discs involved; they are fast. I had Netscape 4.79 before (still used for mail purposes) so probably this has something to do with the problem, although otherwise the transition was absolutely smooth (I think the slow startup was evident already at the first run). If I am the only "lucky guy", don't bother. Thanks anyway! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Actulally, I found now that the slow startup at the logo stage is not evident with Mozilla 1.2b and Quick Launch on. The second part ("resolving homepage") still persists.
I have a slow startup on Mac OSX for version: Mozilla 1.3a Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021212 It did not do this before this version!! Time is almost a minute!
WORKSFORME on latest windows nitely on XP. Reporters, can anyone still reproduce the prob, or is it gone now w. new builds?
Resolving due to lack of response from reporter please reopen if the problem persists with a new build of Mozilla ->WFM 1.4a on WinXP
