Thunderbird 102.7.2 on Windows 10
Thunderbird got launched and prompted for passwords (which deliberately don't get saved) and which got entered but no new messages were shown either in the Inbox or in folders to which some of them get filtered. A check with webmail showed new messages were available and had been set as read. A search across all folders in Thunderbird did not find the messages.
This affected all accounts at different providers. They are set up as POP3. Two of them have >22k messages in their inbox. One of them has a popstate.dat file of 998KB, the other one <1KB. Is the latter corrupt?
But this would not explain why emails from all accounts were missing locally.
The previous session of the Thunderbird only launched it, canceled the password prompt for fetching email, and sent a message. This has been done repeatedly in the past but might have been the first time with v102.

The message is available on the server but hasn't been downloaded? I don't understand how this is dataloss.
A pop log would probably be helpful. https://wiki.mozilla.org/MailNews:Logging

writing this as shorter STR:
- Start Thunderbird got launched
- answer password prompt
- no new messages in the Inbox or in folders to which some of them get filtered.
- new messages were available on server and had been set as read.
- missing messages not found in any folders in Thunderbird

Aryx are you still seeing this issue?
I'm not sure a 1mb popstate.dat would be involved, but thanks for pointing it out
