There are 6 JSMs in https://searchfox.org/mozilla-central/source/browser/components/translation that can be converted into ESMs.

These will probably be deleted in the short term, so it may make sense just to leave them. See Bug 971044 for the work to replace them. We don't have a strict timeline, but I would guess soon-ish.

Thanks for the heads up :gregtatum. Given that the files will be deleted soon, I agree that it'd be best to leave them. Shall we close this as a WONTFIX then?

These files are on track for removal. See Bug 1817084. We're prioritizing the removal since this and another bug are looking at touching the code.
