Steps to reproduce:

Go to https://online-voice-recorder.com/

Playback my robotic crackling voice

I can switch input to a different mic and repeat the above steps and there is no crackling robot sounds (apple cinema display with a built-in mic from 2009). This was problematic with google meets hence my investigation. Problem does not occur in other browsers.

  3. Do you have any addons installed if so can you list them?
  1. Yes, this issue happens when creating a fresh profile
  2. Yes, this issue happens in the latest nightly
  3. Yes, I only have Adblock Plus installed

For what it's worth, the mic starts off recording with no problems for the first minute and then after two minutes of continuous recording it is very noticeable there is static in the background. And after a little longer it becomes unbearable. One moment and I will attach screenshots of my mic devices.

Here are my mics attached to my Mac. I have three and only the Blue Yeti is giving static problems

Here is a recording of me playing a youtube video through my speakers and recording it through the blue yeti mic. This should give you an exact idea of the problem. After 30 seconds you start to hear the audio get some static. After a minute and fifty seconds towards the end, you can't even make out anything. Completely fubar.

This was recorded on the latest nightly build you linked to.

We've completely rewritten our macOS backend (in part because of issues like this), please retry (for no in Firefox Nightly and Beta).
