RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1819096

People

(Reporter: cab26715, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/110.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. https://secure.ally.com/dashboard
  2. Payments Menu --> Bill Pay

Actual results:

Firefox 110.0.1 tries to load the Bill Payment screen but then takes you back to your Account Information / Dashboard.

Expected results:

Firefox should load the Bill Payment screen, like it last worked for me on January 28th, 2023. Had to use Microsoft Edge to submit my payment. Could this be a regression from Bug 1819096?

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Graphics' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Graphics
Product: Firefox → Core

Seems unlikely to be a Graphics bug; punting back to Untriaged for reconsideration.

Component: Graphics → Untriaged
Product: Core → Firefox

Setting this to Core > DOM: Security, so that our developers could take a closer look at this issue. If this is not the right component, please move it to a more suitable one. Thanks!

Product: Firefox → Core

(3/14/23) - Original Poster Here.....Just wanted to add the Bill Payment section is working now and was working last week under Firefox 110.0.1.

I doubt Ally Bank changed anything with their source code, so still keeping this bug open to figure out what the problem was.

When loading certain aspects of the site (including Bill Pay), the Address Bar includes something called a Ticket ID. Maybe the problem had something to do with an Ally Bank certification file expiring and not working correctly (had issues with other sites with that problem in the past)?

I just updated to 111.0 today and still working fine.

The best guess is that this was caused by the same thing as bug 1819096 and is now fixed. Unfortunately it's hard to test without an account, and especially so when it's no longer broken

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 1819096 ***

I understand the problem of trying to fix a bug when it doesn't currently have an issue. I was also thinking it had something to do with the Danish Banking bug as well, but couldn't figure out what it would have to do with USA banks. I see the official notes for MiTID doesn't currently have an official fix and they are talking about working on more updates / removing current patches. Can my bug here and MiTID 1819096 be kept open for at least the next couple official Firefox versions (112, 113 and 114) to verify fully fixed? Thanks.
