URL: https://www.ebay.de

Browser / Version: Firefox 110.0
Operating System: Windows 10
Tested Another Browser: Yes Internet Explorer

Problem type: Site is not usable
Description: Missing items
Steps to Reproduce:
It appears that your PDF module (pdf.js) fails after installing 110.0.1 (32-Bit) - This issue appeared first time yesterday after installing update. Ebay shows PDF invoices in Firefox correctly, but when you click on "Print" the PDF all of a sudden turns into a blank page and a blank page is printed. Very poor!! With Bling everything is fine.
In addition another older bug: When installing new offers at Ebay, Firefox repeatedly crashes when uploading several HiRes (more than 1) pictures at the same time. This bug is Firefox inherent since a longer time of (prior) versions. With Opera and Bing it's fine.

VERY POOR: I INSTALLED FIREFOX A YEAR AGO IN ORDER TO KEEP A REST OF INDEPENDANCE FROM MICROSOFT OR GOOGLE BUT AFTER SEVERAL HASTY IMMATURE FIREFOX UPDATES I HAVE TO SAY: NOT SUITABLE FOR A PROFESSIONAL ENVIRONMENT. WHITH EBAY SITE FIREFOX PERFORMANCE CAN BE BEST DESCRIBED AS: SABOTAGE.

The issue was first reported on Github, via webcompat.com. If the Product and Component are not correct, please feel free to move the issue accordingly.

Hm... The vanishing issue brings Bug 1800897 to mind.
I have tried to repro on Windows 10 on Nightly using "View Tax Invoice" on one of my previous orders, but it seems to have printed ok.

Without having a pdf that repros this it's hard to investigate this. If we don't have any way to contact with the reporter...

Component: Print Preview → Printing: Output

Raul, do you know how we could contact the reporter? I couldn't repro this off-hand.

Hi Emilio. The report is anonymously submitted. We have no contact from the reporter, sadly.

I think that unfortunately means this is INCOMPLETE at this point. We can proceed if we get more reports or information from someone who can reproduce and help us figure out how to reproduce or investigate.

FWIW, I do have an eBay account, and I tried to reproduce this with a purchase from my history there, but I couldn't find a way to get eBay to give me "PDF invoices" or trigger any blank content.

In my case, my order-info page is at https://order.ebay.com/ord/show?orderId=[some-number-here]#/ and that offers a "Printer Friendly Page" option, which pops up an dynamic "overlay" rendering of the printer-friendly view; and that content (via a print media-query) ends up being the only thing that renders when I proceed to print. And I'm able to print it just fine. I never encountered a PDF during this flow, or found a way to trigger a blank-output sort of issue.

(I also tried to repro on ebay.de -- I can log in & view my same order there, and click through to the same "printer friendly page" UI that I mentioned in comment 6. Again, I didn't get any PDF or blank content. So: at this point I'm unable to get to the sort of content that the the reporter was describing as problematic.)

I wonder if maybe the purchase flow is different for purchases-that-are-completed-in-Germany, such that a PDF gets generated/offered. tlouw, do you by any chance have any historical orders of your own on https://ebay.de, and if so, do they show a PDF invoice available that you could test this with?

Flags: needinfo?(tlouw)

I can check when I'm back in Germany, which I'm not currently, will keep the ni in place and update.

Tested invoices and they display correctly on 112.0 (64-bit), also when printing.

Thanks. It seems this remains "resolved|incomplete" then, given that the reporter was anonymous and we have no way to request additional information from them.

I left a note on https://github.com/webcompat/web-bugs/issues/119045 just in case they're following along there, though.
