I'm working on the Mastodon project and need write access to be able to assign pull requests, resolve merge conflicts, and merge PRs, etc.

Yes, It looks like you created the repo on February 7th, and as creator - you're an admin of the repo.

I do recommend that you make a team (or use an existing team if there is one) for as much of the permissions as possible - as a member of the org, you can create teams, and as a repo admin, you can add teams and people to the repository.
