Steps to reproduce:

Attempting to create an event always creates a non-all day event (timed).

Actual results:

Events always default to timed (non-all day events)

Expected results:

For those who wish to create all events as all-day events by default, then schedule them at a later time for expidiency, it is desirable to have a preferences/setting that sets a default for new events: i.e., New Events are created a All-Day, or non-All Day, by default.
This would also be handy to have available as a toggle in toolbars in the calendar for rapid switching during use.
Perhaps using a shift-doubleclick or clicking shift with the New event button could be set as "Create a new all day event" as a second option.

Summary: Default type of event should be in preferences → want setting to create events as all-day by default
