User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2) Gecko/20021126 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2) Gecko/20021126 When I close any browser window Mozilla first does about 60 write operations to a file bookmarks-1.html in my user directory followed by about 600 read operations (yes, that is 3 digits) and finally deletes the file and writes to bookmarks.html (without the 1). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open new browser window (CTRL-N) 2. Close the browser window Actual Results: Window closes with a lot of HD activity. Expected Results: Window should close without or with little HD activity. I checked this with Filemon (a freeware util from sysinternals.com), if anyone is interested I can post the log file, it is about 250 KB. Although I haven't noticed anything going wrong YET, this behaviour is highly annoying because the sound my HD makes when I close a browser window reminds me of a virus spreading or a disc being formatted.
Sorry wrong component, changed it from "Java APIs to WebShell" to "Bookmarks".
Component: Java APIs to WebShell → Bookmarks
My apologises for the mess. I closed this bug, marked it INVALID and created a new bug number 182472, which does have the correct component and people on the CC list.
