Details

Problem in 11/26 trunk (1.3a):
Yahoo Messenger has a mail alert dialogue and icon that tells you if you have
new Yahoo Mail. With the 11/26 trunk build, when you try to go to mail via those
alerts, the URL says "1" and "connecting to 1"

To test this download from http://messenger.yahoo.com and send yourself mail at
a Yahoo address. If I can help in any way let me know.

Expected: If you are not already logged into mail, Yahoo briefly flips you to a
redirect then to mail.yahoo.com

This does not occur in recent branch builds.
btw, Bclary reproduced this.

I also encountered the problem on 11/14 trunk on Win2K.
Summary: Bad URL from log into Yahoo mail from Messenger mail alert icon → Bad URL from log into Yahoo mail from Messenger mail alert icon
this worked for me from a build from a week or so ago. Darin, did any URL
parsing code change? Bill, did anything change in how we accept URL's from
third party applications?
There are three reports, but I think the general problem is the same.

I've moved them to networking. I'm assuming that yahoo messenger sends a URL to
the browser via the OS, and that this is not working for some reason.

dougt: bug 179026 was fixed on 11/11, and bug 181732 was fixed on 11/25. hmm..
not sure that either of these could be related, but it might be worth
investigating. are you setup to try backing these out?
