If "Keep Mozilla in Memory" is turned off, and mail is restarted quickly (within
1 -2 seconds) after quitting mail, on the second time all mail account
information is gone and it will jump into the new account wizard.

This was happening after I was testing Mozilla mail to make sure my changes took
hold, so I'd setup my account, then restart a couple of times to make sure
everything was good. It would corrupt it on the second load.

This probably isn't an issue for most people because with the "Keep Mozilla in
Memory" Mozilla doesn't completely restart until a reboot. This is using v1.2

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Turn of "Keep Mozilla in Memory"
2. Open mail, create new account from new account wizard
3. Close mail
4. Open mail immediately -- account information is still good.
5. Close mail
6. Open mail immediately -- account info is gone and new account wizard opens.
Actual Results:
All account info is gone from program and new account wizard opens. Mail
directories are still on the hard disk.

Expected Results:
Mail should have opened with all account information

This doesn't raise a crash, but all info simply dissapears. This was
disappointing as I was trying out Mozilla mail for the first time, and this kept
happening. As long as I've waited 4-5 seconds before restarting mail, it's
fine, and I'm using it now.
this is a problem with the profile manager/startup code w.r.t. prefs.js, not
mail/news or the mail news database. I'm going to reassign to law and cc ccarlen
. I believe law worked on this in the past. This is probably a dup. We really
need to get this fixed.

I have a similar problem under linux (SuSE 8). Therefore, I'm not sure that the
"keep mozilla in memory" setting is at fault.

I had a very unusual freeze-up (especially for linux!) where the window bar (at
the top) of mozilla disappeared and most of the programs I was running in KDE
became unresponsive. I logged out of KDE and logged back in allowing KDE's
shutdown process to force everything closed.

When I restarted mozilla mail, the new account wizard popped up and my old mail
did not load up. The mail is still there on the hard drive, but I can't get
mozilla to find it. I'm not sure on this, but I think that the problem persists
even after I create a new account. That is, on the next load up, THAT new
account is inaccessible and the account wizard pops up again (and again...)

I read on the web someone who said you could delete the .msf files to try to
deal with a corrupted mailbox and that mozilla would recreate them. This did not
fix my problem. Is there ANY way I can get mozilla to see my old mail again?
does anyone still see this?

Please file a new bug if this still occurs in a recent Thunderbird or
Seamonkey build.
