Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2) Gecko/20021126
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2) Gecko/20021126
I was running the 10.13.2002 build. It crashed whenever I deleted an item from
download manager while downloading something else. It wsa suggested that I
upgrade to the latest 1.2 version, which I did. That's when everything went to hell.
First time: installed latest build over previous build, then deleted compreg.dat.
Second time: uninstalled mozilla, reinstalled mozilla 1.2 and deleted compreg.dat.
Third time: uninstalled mozilla, deleted all folders, reinstalled mozilla 1.2.
Fourth time: uninstalled mozilla, deleted all folders, deleted all registry
entries (that I could find), rebooted, installed mozilla 1.2
Last two times, I used the build that was released on the 26th or 27th of
November. No build ID exists in the title bar.
errors:
1. Bookmarks don't load in side pane, but do on main menu.
2. unable to launch any part of Mozilla from tray icon, can only start
navigator from desktop, when tray icon is closed.
3. if I close the main window, I have to go to Task Manager, manually shut
down Mozilla, then restart it from the desktop in order to get a navigator
window up again.
4. unable to launch any other portions of Mozilla from the Window menu.
5. Window menu shows blank entries (one for each item that I clicked on
above the divider), click on one, nothing happens.
Curious thing, even with deleting all the stuff, my bookmarks, passwords & stuff
are still there. I would have thought that they would be gone when I performed
the fourth re-installation.
I don't want to go back to IE, please, help!!
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
See above.

I've just installed Netscape 7, and it is working just fine. Bookmarks are in
the sidebar, I can open all the various parts of Netscape, Mail, Composer, etc.

Harald :
Please try this :
uninstall Mozilla, delete the whole c:\program..}Mozilla.org folder [Except
plugin subfolder].
If that doesn't work :
run "Mozilla -profilemanager" and create an ADDITIONAL TEST profile

Harald, does uninstalling Mozilla or creating a new profile solve this problem?

I tried deleting everything right away, and it didn't work.
I did not try creating a new profile, and considering that Netscape 7 is working
fine, including all bookmarks, etc, I really don't want to install Mozilla again
and have it screw up Netscape. Besides, nobody has fixed the double-posting
problem that exists in Mozilla yet, so what's the point? I need a browser that
works all the time, not one that works when it wants to. When Mozilla no longer
goes tits up on installing over an old version, then I'll try it again.

Please reopen if you decide to give Mozilla another try and the problem is still
there.
