When running in classical layout with the message pane open, one can select the Junk folder, see the junk mails in the list at the top right, and the message pane stays open but empty. When selecting "Empty Junk" from the context menu, the messages are marked deleted (my setting for the relevant accounts), but the last junk message is selected in the top right pane, causing its contents to be loaded in the message pane. While the workaround is to just close the message pane before emptying junk, I do not always remember to do that. And I think that for this folder it might even pose a security risk to load a message without the user actively clicking on it.
This is with TB v111.0b3 on (Linux x86_64) but has been an issue since a a while, definitely before the Supernova UI changes. (This used to be a problem a looong time ago and got fixed in bug 200138 but reappeared some time ago.)
