If you have an open Dialogue seeking completion of an OAuth process (password request) Thunderbird ceases to collect mail from all accounts until the request is dealt with. Dismissing or proceeded with the authorisation thread, both result in mail commencing to download.
Having the browser windows open in the background results in unexpected delays in downloading mail as the user is not even aware there is a browser window unless they hover over the taskbar icon.
So this bug is I think to allow mail to continue to be received in other accounts while an oauth process is continuing. But it could just as well be for forcing a cessation of popping up a new browser every 10 minutes after the original is dismissed. I got the message, that account is broken. I don't want a constant stream of windows telling me they need to be dismissed, reminding me constantly like a yapping dog.

Yeah, it's pretty annoying.
A similar thing can happen for me in Firefox when a password login prompt is active.
