3-dot menu popup on Developer Tools is displayed in the wrong place.
Note: Issue might be limited to Wayland.

Nightly 113.0a1 (2023-03-19) (64-bit), Ubuntu 22.10 Wayland

Summary: Developer Tool 3-dot menu popup displayed in the wrong place → Developer Tools 3-dot menu popup displayed in the wrong place
Flags: needinfo?(emilio)

I can't reproduce this - can you provide more info? Does this happen with devtools docked to the bottom? In a separate window? Something else?

Do you have an interesting scaling set-up? Any chance you could run mozregression to know when it broke?

  • Extension Developer tools is opened in a separate window
  • Only happens when window is maximised

Do you have an interesting scaling set-up?

No scaling.
Although, I have the laptop + additional monitor.
The issue happens on both the laptop screen and the external monitor.

Any chance you could run mozregression to know when it broke?

Sadly, mozregression GUI doesn't run in my system (I am not good with the CLI).

No issue when the Developer Tools window is not maximised

Flags: needinfo?(emilio)

I can't repro this on GNOME nor Plasma on Wayland, either.

Flags: needinfo?(emilio)

This is surely bug 1823336 tho, and that one I could reproduce.

I can reproduce this on Ubuntu 22.10 with native Wayland in a maximized window. When unmaximized, the popup exceeds the window boundary which may be why it gets displaced. It does not happen with XWayland. It also happens in older builds when Developer Tools opened in a tab instead of a dedicated window.

Likely regressed by Bug 1623974.

:jhorak, since you are the author of the regressor, bug 1623974, could you take a look?

Flags: needinfo?(jhorak)

It does not occur when the Ubuntu dock is moved to the top or bottom of the screen, it only occurs when it is on the left (default) or right side.
