User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/111.0
Steps to reproduce:
I have maybe 5-6 tabs open when this bug occurs. I'm not doing anything specific when the bug occurs, whether that be writing a document, watching a video or just sitting on the home tab. Unfortunately there are not really any steps to reproduce to my knowledge.
Actual results:
Completely out of no where I get a popup asking me to force quit Firefox, showing that it's using over 40gb of memory. If I decide not to fore quit, Firefox just seizes up and refuses to work.
Expected results:
Nothing. Firefox should have stayed completely the same.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Performance' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

The memory report doesn't show any process taking too much memory.
Do you see high memory usage in the TaskManager?
Do you think you could try to capture a performance profile when the issue happens
https://profiler.firefox.com/
and share the profile using "Upload local profile" button?

Yeah the memory usage shows up in Activity Monitor. I'll upload the report next time it happens 👍
